Martine A. Gould, MS, CGC

Genetic Executive | Licensed Certified Genetic Counselor

As a driven and innovative Genetics professional, I bring intelligence, experience, common sense, and integrity to every endeavor. With 32 years as a Board Certified Genetic Counselor, 8 ½ years as a Diagnostic Genetic Testing sales executive, I've honed my skills of advocating for better lives with a unique array of experiences in genetics. All has been driven by a singular mission: giving people access to accurate and complete genetic information for the most informed health choices possible.

In the 11th grade I discovered my gift of innate understanding of Genetic Information and determined I would become a Genetic Counselor at Sarah Lawrence College,-the flagship program for the profession. I could never have imagined how far we would come with the sequencing of the human Genome by the year 2000 to now being able to offer my patients whole exome and whole genome sequencing. I have had a front seat to amazing advancements and have always been first to offer these new technologies to my patients. It is for this reason that I have founded GeneSeen. We, the genetics community, have so much amazing technology and science to make huge differences in peoples’ lives, most of this testing priced less then a cell phone or a computer. The amount of information and testing options is a difficult landscape to navigate for clinicians with busy practices. And, the ability for individuals and clinicians to access unbiased, clear and accurate information is complicated and in many cases, unattainable. Many individuals with genetic disease go unrecognized and undiagnosed. Therefore, it is my mission to do my part to bridge that gap.

Beyond my professional journey, I've delved into passions that have enriched my life; Mother to 4 amazing children, 2 sets of twins and breeder of an uncommon breed of dogs, Briards. Ironically, the breed specific disease found only in Briards resulted in the first ever gene therapy for Leber congenital amaurosis, an early onset form of retinitis pigmentosa.

I thrive on being a proactive problem solver and will consistently work to optimize outcomes for you, your family, your practice, your organization. My goal is to help you achieve the best possible outcomes for your circumstance with the best genetic information I can provide. Please join me in this exciting journey.
